Research & Writing: Community-Informed Strategies for Trauma and Resilience
I co-authored this paper to discuss how hurricane-impacted communities in South Louisiana can recover from disasters and build resilience in the face of climate change. While policies exist to support these efforts, past government failures have led to community mistrust.

To identify effective, community-driven solutions, we analyzed insights from 47 local organizations. Key strategies included:
-
Community-led coalitions to strengthen support networks.
-
Trauma-informed care in schools and healthcare.
-
Resources to navigate housing and financial challenges.
-
Open conversations on climate change to foster awareness and preparedness.
These findings help shape future resilience-building efforts, ensuring solutions come from those most affected.

Program Management: Scaling Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health Education in Louisiana
As the Senior Program Manager of Believe in Youth! Louisiana 2.0 (BY-LA 2.0), I led a three-year federally funded initiative that provided trauma-informed reproductive health education to over 6,000 youth and parents across Louisiana. The program combined evidence-based curricula with mental wellness support, parent engagement, and partnerships with schools and healthcare providers to create a comprehensive approach to adolescent health.

Key contributions included:
-
Program Leadership: Managed curriculum adaptation, educator training, and stakeholder engagement.
-
Capacity Building: Trained school leaders, clinicians, and community partners to expand access to adolescent health resources.
-
Sustainability & Impact: Developed resources and strategies that enabled schools and communities to continue supporting youth beyond the program’s funding cycle.
This work resulted in increased knowledge and confidence among youth, stronger parent-child communication about health topics, and improved coordination of services between schools and healthcare providers.
Training & Facilitation
One of my favorite memories from this project was planning and implementing a four-day Summer Enrichment Workshop as a refresher & teambuilder for the health educators. This series was one of several key training initiatives I developed to strengthen educators' skills and engagement.
